sp_a1_intro1 is the first map in the Portal 2 singleplayer campaign, and the first map of the chapter The Courtesy Call.

When you initially wake up, it's best to just do what the announcer does as soon as the buzzer sounds. A good simple method is to position yourself directly in front of the painting on the wall, look up and look down when told, and following the speech get on the bed and sleep. There are no useful glitches in this area, apart from bunnyhopping from one side of the room to the other.

When you wake up the second time, instantly position yourself by the door that Wheatley comes through, and the trigger will automatically activate for him to enter. Following his talk about brain damage and what-not, you want to either position yourself directly beneath him or on the storage containers, and start jumping. The reason this is helpful is that it reduces the time it takes to jump, thus allowing you to jump when prompted a fraction of a second quicker. Do this both times, and then wait for the ride to finish.

Once this is finished, jump through to the room of Chamber 00 (in a single jump is preferable). While waiting for the portal to open, some speedrunners will choose to play a small game where you must try and throw a clipboard into the toilet from the corner where the portal will open, however this is not necessary to the speedrun's completion and is just a fun little easter egg. When the portal opens, start bunnyhopping to the next room. Throw the cube onto the button as fast as possible, preferably before the Announcer finishes his speech. You want to wait to go through the door until this exact point and sprint to the elevator, since this allows a dialogue skip, leading to as much as 8 seconds skipped in the elevator.
