GoldSource, also known as GoldSrc, is a game engine developed by Valve Corporation, which was primarily made for Half-Life 1. It is a heavily modified version of the Quake engine, therefore both Quake and Half-Life share many similarities with each other, e.g. movement techniques such as air-strafing and bunnyhopping.
GoldSrc is succeeded by the Source engine, which is the engine used by Half-Life 2 and later Valve titles.
Articles directly under the GoldSrc umbrella describe glitches, tricks, and mechanics possible in multiple games running on the engine.
