First contact to speedrunning (when, how etc.)?
When I first started playing games, I usually tried to finish the individual levels as fast as I could. The first time I formally started using routes of other people was with the game Sonic Adventure 2: Battle on the GameCube. I got Portal 2 on the XBox 360 a year after it came out and I tried completeing the chambers as fast as possible. (I didn't touch Challange mode very often.) I then saw what was capable on PC (via NoochM); after that I built a computer and started learning to speedrun Portal 2, picking up Black Mesa and Half-Life anlong the way.
